Brisbane Zombie Walk

24th October 2010

FAQ

Q: When is the next zombie walk?

A: SUNDAY OCTOBER 24TH! The walk will start at 3pm so we recommend getting there by 2:30pm so you don't miss the start of the walk, any important announcements or the many photo opportunities!

Q: Where will it happen?

A: Starting at Wickham Park (which is located on the corner of Wickham Terrace and Albert Street) the walk will move into the center of the City and then continue to Fortitude Valley. See About for further details.

Q: Are there any rules?

A: The first rule is to have fun! But aside from that using common sense is the most important rule. Zombies are not immune from traffic so keep off the roads unless crossing at a pedestrian crossing while safe to do so. Observe and respect other zombies’ personal space (likewise with the uninfected and uninformed masses who will undoubtedly be drawn to the walk for photos etc). Also, Brisbane is a beautiful city, so let's keep it that way but not littering and leaving as little gore behind as possible. There will be an increased police presence this year and anyone being anti-social could potentially be prosecuted, so please use common sense while having fun.

Q: Why do I have to register?

A: Due to the increasing success of the Brisbane Zombie Walk over the last two years, we need to make sure we have an estimate of how many people will be attending the 2010 walk. Registration is free and very quick and will help us make sure the walk is safe and fun for all involved, be they zombies, photographers or the general public. We do ask anyone who thinks there is even a 20% chance of attending to register just to be safe. We will not use your details for anything except to gauge how many people will be participating

Q: Do I have to donate?

A: No one has to donate if they do not wish to or cannot afford to. As we are raising money for the Brain Foundation of Australia, we are aiming to raise as much money as possible to give to them as a charitable donation upon completion of the walk. Also, the walk itself is very expensive to organise and is only being funded by the three dedicated zombie lovers who are behind the event. If you choose to make a donation, all money will go straight towards the running of the walk and the Brain Foundation.

Q: How do I dress like a zombie?

A: If you're struggling with ideas, there are many websites that give some excellent hints at creating that perfect zombie look. To make your lives a little easier, here are some makeup tutorials to have a look at:

Q: What is the after-party?

A: This year the Official After Party will take place immediately after the walk concludes in a venue in Fortitude Valley. There will be an area specifically for those who like live, alternative music and another area for those who prefer dance and electronic music. We will be releasing more information about the after party soon.

Q: Can I help?

A: Of course! We need as many volunteers as possible to help make sure the walk runs as smoothly as possible! If you're interested in helping us out on the day please email us on zombie@brisbanezombiewalk.com. Otherwise you can donate here or if you're interested in fundraising please check out our fundraiser page here.
