What is a Zombie Walk?
A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban centre, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping their way towards a local cemetery or other public space.
The Brisbane Zombie Walk will take place in Brisbane City, starting off at Wickham park where participants will amble their way through the city and continue through to Fortitude Valley where there will be an after-party. The walk is purely for fun and for those obsessed with the living dead. Everyone involved in the walk is encouraged to dress up as and act like a zombie, to the shock (and delight) of the unaware public.

Where does the Brisbane Zombie Walk take place?
The 2011 Brisbane Zombie Walk will take place on Sunday October 23rd. The walk starts at 3pm SHARP so we recommend getting to the start point at least half an hour earlier to ensure no one misses out on any important pre-walk announcements and to make sure you get a good position in the procession! There will also be entertainment and stalls from our sponsors from 11am.
The walk starts at Wickham Park (the park is at the corner of Wickham Tce and Albert St). After some mingling the walk will commence at 3pm SHARP, where we will leave the park and head towards the center of the city. Participants will then head towards Fortitude Valley. The walk will officially finish up at the small park called CENTENARY PLACE on Ann Street just short of the Brunswick Street mall. Once we are all gathered there will be further instructions on how to proceed to the after party at Tempo Hotel.
