FAQ
Q: When is the next zombie walk?
A: SUNDAY OCTOBER 23RD! The walk will start at 3pm so we recommend getting there by 2:30pm so you don’t miss the start of the walk, any important announcements or the many photo opportunities! We will also have entertainment and stalls run by our sponsors from 11am.
Q: Where will it happen?
A: Starting at Wickham Park (which is located on the corner of Wickham Terrace and Albert Street) the walk will move through the center of the City and then continue to Fortitude Valley. View the map of the starting point.
Q: Are there any rules?
A: The first rule is to have fun! But aside from that, using common sense is the most important thing to remember. Zombies are not immune from traffic so keep off the roads unless police or the walk marshals have indicated it is safe to do so. Observe and respect other zombies’ personal space (likewise with the uninfected and uninformed masses who will undoubtedly be drawn to the walk for photos etc). Also, Brisbane is a beautiful city, so let’s keep it that way by not littering and leaving as little gore behind as possible. This means you MUST throw away any bottles of fake blood before the walk commences to minmise damage to the streets along the route. We will have marshals at the exit points of Wickham Park collecting your containers as you leave. As usual there will be a strong police presence and anyone being anti-social could potentially be prosecuted, so please use common sense while you’re having fun.
Q: Why do I have to register?
A: Due to the increasing success of the Brisbane Zombie Walk over the last two years, we need to make sure we have an estimate of how many people will be attending the 2011 walk. Registration is free and very quick and will help us make sure the walk is safe and fun for all involved, be they zombies, photographers or the general public. We do ask anyone who thinks there is even a slim chance of attending to register just to be safe. We will not use your details for anything except to gauge how many people will be participating. It was also help us get the Guinness World record for largest zombie walk so please register!
Q: Do I have to donate?
A: No one has to donate if they do not wish to or cannot afford to. As we are raising money for the Brain Foundation of Australia, we are aiming to raise as much money as possible to give to them as a charitable donation upon completion of the walk. Also, the walk itself is very expensive to organise and is only being funded by the a small group of dedicated zombie lovers who are behind the event. If you choose to make a donation, all money will go straight towards the running of the walk and the Brain Foundation.
Q: Do I get anything for making a donation?
A: Yes! As we are not tax exempt, all donations made to us via the site will entitle you to a gift. For donations of $10 or more you will get a silicon wrist band which entitles you to entry to the Rott n Roll Afterlife Party at Tempo Hotel. Any donations of $30 or more not only get you the silicon wrist band but also an exclusive and extremely limited edition t-shirt (see SHOP).
Q: How do I dress like a zombie?
A: If you’re struggling with ideas, there are many websites that give some excellent hints at creating that perfect zombie look. By googling 0r searching Youtube for “zombie makeup” you’re going to be overwhelmed with hints, tips and recipes for creating the perfect zombie look. To make your lives a little easier, here are some good sites that we have referenced in the past:

Q: What is the after-party?
A: This year the Rott n Roll After Party will take place at Tempo Hotel (388 Brunswick St) as soon as the walk concludes (approx 3:30pm). There will be two areas for people to enjoy, with live bands up on the Main room and Brisbane’s best DJs in the Dungeon downstairs. The after party costs $10 entry, free if you have already bought entry in our shop and have your silicon wrist band and is AN ALL AGES EVENT! If you are under 18 and wish to attend, you must be accompanied by an adult. If you are 18+ and wish to drink alcohol, you need to provide valid ID and receive a special tyvek wristband to show bar staff when purchasing drinks. This wrist band will not prevent you from being ID’d by security upon re-entry to the venue so please keep your ID on you at all times.
Q: Can I help?
A: Of course! We need as many volunteers as possible to help make sure the walk runs as smoothly as possible!
